			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><br /><p>I call this phase 1 as this is a work in progress!    I don&#8217;t feel like I&#8217;m actually done here, I have a way to go.  There have been some things that didn&#8217;t change while I&#8217;ve seen improvements in other areas. </p>
<p>Here are some of the highlights - the things that improved.</p>
<p>Vertical Leap - difference between the highest reach (standing) and highest reach (jumping)</p>
<p>day 1 - 6&#8243;</p>
<p>day 90 - 11.5&#8243;</p>

<p>Push-ups</p>
<p>Day 1 - 12 (knees)</p>
<p>Day 90 - 20 (knees)</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Toe Touch - with legs straight out, how far the fingers extended</p>
<p>Day 1 - minus .5&#8243;</p>
<p>Day 90 - plus 3&#8243;</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Wall Squat - Leaning against wall in a seated position</p>
<p>Day 1 - 27 seconds</p>
<p>Day 90 - 42 seconds</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Bicep Curls</p>
<p>Day 1 - 8 lbs, 30 reps</p>
<p>Day 90 - 8 lbs, 40 reps</p>
<p> </p>
<p>In &amp; Outs - in a seated position with hands on floor, bringing legs in and out to stomach</p>
<p>Day 1 - 25 times</p>
<p>Day 90 - 55 times</p>
<p>Super positive - I didn&#8217;t quit.   I went all the way through and didn&#8217;t miss one weight workout, although did miss a few of the other workouts.    Most people quit before they finish because they either don&#8217;t see results or they find an excuse not to continue.   </p>
<p>I didn&#8217;t see *all* the results I was hoping to see at the end of the first 90 days, but I am not throwing out the baby with the bathwater and know that I improved greatly in many areas.    Although I&#8217;m not interested in picture taking, weighing &amp; measuring myself at this point I will be looking forward to doing that down the line, maybe in the next phase or perhaps even next month!</p>
<p>We are continuing with &#8220;phase 2&#8243; - ha.  This morning I did some plyometrics and we will be officially restarting the second 90 day phase on Monday.</p>

<p>In my inbox I receive newsletters from Beach Body.   Today was about getting a wide variety of fruits and vegetables in our diets.  What is perplexing is the P90X diet guidelines only recommend 1 serving of fruit and 2 servings of vegetables a day, far and way below what the USDA recommends.   Now how can this be?  </p>
<p>It is  disturbing that Beach Body appears to &#8220;keep up&#8221; with the latest in nutrition, etc. yet their diet guidelines are SO behind the times with animal based high protein diets and low fruit and vegetable consumption and ESPECIALLY all the supplement pushing.   </p>
<p>I guess they have to push those supplements because of their stance on a low plant food diet.   Although supplements just can&#8217;t take the place of the nutrients in plant foods, especially FRESH plant foods.   So I guess the outside of the body will look fine but the inside is gushing with recovery drinks, soy protein isolates, artificial flavorings &amp; colorings and a bunch of animal protein.   </p>
<p>It is a good thing our bodies are forgiving.    It doesn&#8217;t take long for our bodies to repair the damage of unhealthy diets, as long as we feed them correctly with health promoting foods.</p>
